CCS/MSP-EXP432P401R: Please recommend a book on learning ARM MCU C Programming

Part Number: MSP-EXP432P401R

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Dear all IT Users, Developers and Engineers,

I am new to MCU programming.  I have bought a set of MSP-EXP432P401R Launchpad and 2 boostpacks.

Please recommend a book/site to me to learn ARM MCU C programming.  I hope that:

  1. The tutorial is based on EXP432P401R MCU;
  2. The book/site is for beginner knowing some C/C++; it does not need assembler; it is not those Bible types listing everything inside the memory; if it is a book, the price should not be too expensive.  Please do not recommend any video or slide course on sites which charge $$$.
  3. The course is based on the free TI Code Composer Studio v7 and its free C compiler.  I cannot afford Keil or IAR.

I am looking forward to your valuable opinions.  ^^

Yours faithfully.

  • No single book can make you an expert.

    Start with TI documents SLAS826, SLAU356, SLAU575, SLAU597 and browse the examples provided in the MSP432 SDK.

  • Tim,

    A great place to start is our SimpleLink Academy for the MSP432. SimpleLink Academy provides a comprehensive set of training tools that allow users from beginners to experienced developers to learn about the SimpleLink MCU Platform. The academy delivers training modules that span a breadth of topics including fundamental SDK components such as an introduction to TI-RTOS and leading up to 'Getting Started' labs for all products in the SimpleLink MCU family. It is intended to be used by anyone wanting to get familiar with the SimpleLink MCU SDK of their choice and the development boards and tools associated with it. I've linked you specifically to the MSP432 SimpleLink Academy below. Each quarter we are adding new content to this that will help train customers on how to use our devices so you can be assured that there will be new and accurate content.
