MSP432P401R: Is DMA multitasking?

Hello community,

In my application I use DMA in 3 different drivers/settings, two UART and SPI. All drivers are running at high speed, up to the docu limits.

Question: is DMA module capable of serving simultaneously 3 of them?

Hello Yuliy,

No, the DMA does not service them together. If all 3 of them occur at the same time then it prioritizes bases on the 2-level channel priority. Once the higher priority channel are identified, then the lower number channel is processed first in the same priority level. The channel service request are re-arbitrated at the arbitration boundary size as set by the application in the DMA channel descriptor.
