Hi.

I am developing application using MSP430FG4618.

I want to have my firmware protected from readouts.

The data-sheet states that blowing fuse disables JTAG from further use.

I need to have to be able to re-use JTAG for reprogramming if the customer needs a quick fix.

Is there any way to protect the code memory without losing its in-circuit- programming ability?

Hi Steve,

If the JTAG fuse is blown, the JTAG capability is lost permanently. This can be seen in Table 1-11 of MSP430™ Programming With the JTAG Interface. You can however still program the part using the UART BSL interface. Please refer to MSP430™ Flash Device Bootloader(BSL) for more information.

I'd also like to refer you to the MSP Code Protection Features application report that details various techniques for protecting your code from readout.
