Hello,

I have ez-430 Chronos watch, I just opened it according to the steps mentioned in the user guide and then assembled it now it is showing only black screen I don't know what happened to it, when i am pressing light button light is glowing but not showing on the LCD. Please suggest me possible ways to rectify my problem/

Hello Shubham,

Is this a brand new out-of-box EZ430-CHRONOS? From where did you purchase the development kit? Have you tried re-programming or updating the firmware? Are you able to connect and interact with the provided GUI? And have you considered replacing the battery?

No, it is about 2 years old. I won this in TI's Analog Maker Competition held in the college. Actually, what happened i was trying to connect it with its RF module because i want to explore it more so my intention was to change the date and time with the help of TI software, when it was not connecting then i read its USER GUIDE so i tied to out its module and connected with its debug interface nut nothing was happened so i put it into its frame and after that display gone black. i tried a lot and read the user manual but i was helpless.

Hi Shubham,

So was it working before you tried to connect the RF module? Did your PC report any errors when the connection failed? At this point you should try to re-program it, or power through a supply to check the battery.

Hello Ryan,

Yes, before connected to RF module it was working and i didn't saw any errors reported by PC of connection failed, screen is appearing when i connect it to th PC and as you also gave links of few other convos in which i saw there is one in which there is issue of spring which connect board to Vcc what is thta spring ?

The spring connects the battery to the PCB in order to supply VCC power to the system, if you were not aware of this spring or its location then it was possibly misplaced when opening the case. This explains why the unit turns on when properly powered through a PC connection. TI does not provide replacement parts or have any recommendations on suitable alternatives.

Is that the connection you are talking about if it is then i am not able to found any spring in between my battery and Vcc.

You will need to come up with a way to connect battery VCC and GND to the board.

Thank You so much, Ryan for your i managed to fix that and it is working good now =.

But now i am facing another problem in connecting with RF module. I am attaching the image of the message i am receiving.

The first step is to make sure your RF Access Point is connected properly and receiving power. You can also follow the FAQ from the User's Guide to help debug the issue.

Yes, actually when first time i try to setup communication between modules then there is no problem but problems comes when i tried to press the down button for settings like syncying time.
