CCS/MSP432P401R: How to connect MSP432 with MSP-FET

Part Number: MSP432P401R

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I am using MSP-EXP432p401R launchpad. Now I want to connect MSP432 with MSP-FET. But it failed, so I'd like to know how to connect them. It will be very nice if you give out the connect picture. By the way, how to configure the CCS?

  • Jufeng,

    Have you seen this? http://www.ti.com/tool/msp-fet-432adptr?keyMatch=msp-fet%20adapter&tisearch=Search-EN-Everything

The MSP-FET-432ADPTR is an adapter to convert the 14 pin JTAG connector to either standard ARM 10 pin or ARM 20 pin connectors. This allows for use of the MSP-FET debug probe with MSP432 Cortex-M devices.

From this you can place an ARM 10-pin cable from the adapter board to the LaunchPad 10-pin plug next to S2 button.

If you have done this, please let us know what you mean by "it failed". Can you provide more details on what exactly was the failure?

  • Hi Evan Wakefield,

    Below is the detailed failure:

    Error connecting to the target:
    (Error -260 @ 0x0)
An attempt to connect to the XDS110 failed.
The cause may be one or more of: no XDS110 is connected, invalid
firmware update, invalid XDS110 serial number, or faulty USB
cable. The firmware and serial number may be updated using the
xdsdfu utility found in the .../ccs_base/common/uscif/xds110
directory of your installation. View the ReadMe.txt file there
    for instructions.
    (Emulation package 6.0.579.0)

I have done the operation as you mentioned. I doubt something is wrong with my ccs project configuration.

    Regards,
    Jufeng
  • Hi,
I have found the problem. The CCS should select TI MSP430 USB1.
    Thank you
