MSP430F5529: New Design Implementation

Part Number: MSP430F5529

Hi TI Community,

I currently have an existing design using the MSP430F5529 Microcontroller to control many shift registers (74HC595) using serial communication as well as multiple RS-232 and RS-422 drivers. I am wondering if this microcontroller is acceptable for a new circuit design as far as its life span in the future or if there is another low power microcontroller worth looking into to substitute for this microcontroller.

Thank you.

  • Hi Peter,

Thanks for using MSP430 family in your projects. so far i don't see any issues if using MSP430F5529 in new projects. If you are consider a new part like FRAM serials, we can give more suggestion if there are more description about what resource you need.

    regards
    KC
