    For a schematic reference of necessary MSP430FR6972 connections please refer to the MSP-TS430PM64F found in the Hardware Tools User's Guide (SLAA278). The EZ430-TMS37157 resources also provide schematics of a MSP430 connected to a similar low-frequency device (TMS37157) which you can consider evaluating.
