CCS/MSP430F5325: AES256 sourcecode for MSP430F5325

Part Number: MSP430F5325
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430FR5922

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

We need AES256 sourcecode for our MSP430F5325. Where can I find this?

  • Hello Markus,

The MSP430F5325 does not have an AES256 hardware module, so I'm assuming here you are looking for a SW solution. For a SW solution, we do not have AES256 available. We do have an AES128 SW solution available.

If you want a HW solution for AES128, some of our MSP430F67xx devices have this module.

If you are wanting a HW module of AES256, some fo our MSP430FR5xxx and MSP430FR6xxx device shave this module. In fact the MSP430FR5922 is a very similar device to the MSP430F5325. What particular features of the MSP430F5325 are required? With this knowledge, I can help you select an MSP430 with those features plus a HW AES256 module.
  • Hi Jace,

thanks for quick feedback. We are already using AES128 sourcode (SW solution) for our MSP430F5325. We are using this MSP inside our POS terminals. Now we have to do new approvals with with our POS terminal with newer higher security level. Cause of this we want to update (SW update) our POS terminals with AES256 solution (it is not possible to use another MSP with AES256 HW solution; HW of the POS terminals that are already in the field for several years can't be modified).

Do you have any idea where I could get such AES256 sourcecode?

    Thanks

  • We need AES256 soucecode for MSP430F5325 (it it not possible to wwitch to another MSP)!
  • Hello Markus,

Unfortunately, TI does not have an AES256 SW solution for MSP430 currently. We do know of some third party security experts that could have this available though. Please check out the following Third Parties for more information.

    Wolfssl

    mbedtls

    openssl

    CryptoExperts

    Invia

  • Hello Jace,
thanks for quick feedback. Now it's clear: we will have to look for a third Party source code forAES256.
    Thanks
