MSP430F5529: MSPflasher Interface Communication Error

Part Number: MSP430F5529
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB-2-MDIO, MSP-EXP430F5529LP, ENERGIA, MSPDS, , MSP430-FLASHER

By flashing the USB-2-MDIO firmware to the launchpad I got an error " Exit 19 Interface Communication Error"

C:\>cd ti

C:\ti>cd MSPFlasher_1.3.16

System configuration:

1. Windows 7 Enterprise

2. Launchpad MSP-EXP430F5529LP

3. USB Driver ti_msp430driver_setup_1_00_01_00

4. MSPFlasher_1.3.16

5. USB-2-MDIO

After Installation of the USB Drivers the Device Manager has an unknown device MSP430-USB Example.

  • When the MSP-EXP430F5529LP is connected, on which COM ports does it enumerate as a MSP Debug Interface and Application UART1? Have you considered using MSP430F5529 instead of NO_TARGET as the -n trigger's argument? Are you using the most recent MSPDS low-level USB drivers? Has the LaunchPad been used before with an IDE like Energia or CCS, and can it be connected using FET-Pro430 software?

    Regards,

  • Hello Ryan, the MSP Launchpad is connected as UART1 at COM6 and the Debug Interface at COM5.

There is no difference in using the string MSP430F5529 instead of NO_TRAGET.

The low-level Driver was downloaded in the Version 1.0.1.0 from your Website.

I'm not shure but a college use it with an IDE. I will ask him.

    Thanks

  • I've had no issues connecting my MSP-EXP430F5529LP v1.5, latest MSPDS drivers, with MSP430-FLASHER v1.3.16 on a Windows 7 64-bit OS.

    Regards,
    Ryan
