Hi,
I am reading document "LC_Sensor_Rotation_Detection_With_MSP430_Extended_Scan_Interface_ESI" and I have one relevant evaluation on hands as well. I am able to power up the main board and motor board and observe the number of rotation counting on LCD. As the beginner for this ESI application, I have several questions about the document and board. Would appreciate you could help answer my questions.
1. On page 7, figure. 7, Chapter 3.1, See the snapshot below. Where to probe these two Sensor outputs on board, is it the physical waveform
2. On page 11, figure 10, Chapter 4.5, See the snapshot below. I can probe the first oscillation waveform only on the sensor input pin ESICH0 and ESICH1. How to probe the other 3 waveform marked No.1, 2,3? They are probed from the board obviously as the figure is the oscilloscope snapshot.
3. On page 13, Chapter 4.6, figure 12. These two waveform are physical waveform? Can we probe them on board?
Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks and best regards,
KH
Hi Kum Hoo,
1. On page 7, figure. 7, Chapter 3.1, See the snapshot below. Where to probe these two Sensor outputs on board, is it the physical waveform
Those two sensor outputs are not physical waveform. The real oscillation waveform should be like the cyan one on Figure 10. In this application, we only need to capture one single trough point on each oscillation waveform and it will indicate whether there exists the metal or not. What you see in Figure 7 is several trough points' value where the metal at different position.
No.1 is ESICLK. No.3 is ACLK. You can configure to output them(ESICLK & ACLK) in the software.
No.2 is the oscillation waveform which you can capture between pin ESICOM and ESICH0/1
3. On page 13, Chapter 4.6, figure 12. These two waveform are physical waveform? Can we probe them on board?
The waveform in Figure 12 is the same as the one in Figure 7. They are not physical waveform. They are trough points form many oscillation waveform.
