MSP430I2020: LPM3 current inconsistency

Hi there.

The datasheet for the i2xx family shows LPM3 current is 210uA (microamps), which looks rather excessive given the 0,7uA one can find in G2xx.

The web page shows 210nA (nanoamps) instead, which is closer and promising.

PS: BTW, LPM4 current seems odd too, compared to <1uA on G2xx

    Thank you for your post, and that's a very good observation. I do see that the Overview page shows LPM3 current at 210nA for the i20xx devices versus the (correct) value of 210uA in the datasheet. I'll contact the team responsible for this page to have them fix this typo.

    If ever in doubt, always refer to the datasheet like you did. While the i2xx and G2xx devices are similar, they do have different sets of modules which is most likely the cause for different current consumption values. Typically, the i2xx devices are used in electric metering applications where current consumption is not a concern whereas the G2xx series are used in many low-power, battery-powered applications.
