Dumping(Programming) the code of EKG on the MSP430FG439

I am new to msp430 and also programming of it. I have made the hardware of EKG board as given in the application note of EKG(slaa280a).but i dont know how to dump the code on the msp430fg439.There must be some interfacing required to dump the code.Please guide me.Also for displaying EKG waveform, i have to use rs232 level shifter between PC and EKG board. So how to build that?? Please tell me and provide schematic or layout for building the same.

I have one doubt that for displaying,communication is through the UART but for dumping,UART is used or through JTAG it is programmed? because JTAG is provided on board..

Please help me.

Hi Ravi,

you should use the MSP-FET430UIF for programming of the MSP430FG439. Find some details on the tools here: http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/msp-fet430uif.html.

In case of RS-232 tranceivers you can use the parametric search here http://focus.ti.com/paramsearch/docs/parametricsearch.tsp?family=analog&familyId=543&uiTemplateId=NODE_STRY_PGE_T and select the one that fits your needs (package etc.).

The data sheet will also give you the (brief) schematics needed to use it. Another option is using a TUSB3410 (http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folders/print/tusb3410.html) insted of RS-232 since this will give a an USB interface. There is an application note on how to use it with MSP430 too.
