Hello Gary,

You could potentially do floating point calculations with an MSP430 without MathLib. MathLib makes this process easier and with better performance than if doing it manually. By performance, its not just speed of calculations, but also memory size of your code. I highly recommend using the library.

So allegedly, MATHLIB is included in the current version of CCS. I'm using CCS v7. However I can't find msp430_math.h
#include <msp430.h>
#include <msp430_math.h>
//#include "math.h"

Produces a File not found error???

User's Guide SLAU499 2013 explains whats required if you download and install the MATLIB package.

Hello Gary,

MathLIB is included as part of MSP430Ware. If you navigate to TI Resource Explorer -> SOFTWARE -> MSP430Ware -> Libraries -> MATHLIB , you can see examples and an empty project you can used to import the library.

Sorry about that. The MSP430 Library is actually named IQmath.

Okay I'll try it the next time. I was able to get FP math working without it.
