Hi,

I'm trying to erase or program MSP430F5132 device. The error im getting is " FATAL ERROR " COULD NOT FIND DEVICE" (Device not supported) Session Aborted.

1. Im using eZ-FET launch board. SBWTCK is connected with MSP430F5132 PIN : TEST ( TEST / SBWTCK)

SBWTDIO is connected with MSP430F5132 PIN RST ( NMI / SBW TDIO/RST).

Hi Rajesh,

Could you provide a schematic showing the connections on the board containing the MSP430F5132? You should ensure that the connections, capacitance, and resistor values match what is seen in Figure 2-3 of the MSP430 Hardware Tools User's Guide. Also, what board are you using that contains the eZ-FET?

Rajesh,

The pull-up on the RST line is far too strong. TI recommends using a 47k ohm resistance on this line instead of the 2.05k you have present in your design.

We did... Unfortunately the issue remains same.. I feel i have done some wrong settings in the IAR..( I'm sorry i may be totally wrong)..
Can you please share the compiler setting if you have?

We are using eZ-FET Rev1.2 to program MSP430F5132.

Complete part number is MSP - EXP430FR4133 Launch pad.

How are you supplying power to the device when trying to program it?

I also noticed you're not meeting the CVCOREor the CDVCC/CVCORE spec in section 5.3 of the datasheet:

Hi Caleb Overbay,

Thank you for the inputs.

1. The voltage at AVCC and DVIO are at 3.31V. We are connecting output of TLV70433DBV to these pins.

2. When we down load these files in to these device, The compiler says that, the download is complete. picture attached for your inputs.

but we are not getting any output from MSP430.

3. Can you please help us , How to make sure the download is complete?

Hi Rajesh,

Did you make the changes I recommended in my previous post? If the device is being used out of spec, I can't guarantee it's operation. Also, in IAR did you ensure you are using the FET-debugger instead of the built-in simulator?

This issue is solved. We have done the following to achieve this.

1. We have connected the same power supply rail of ez FET to the target.

2. We have used to CCS version 8.

With the above we could successfully programmed the controller.
