CCS/MSP430G2233: Can I still download GRACE for the MSP430

Part Number: MSP430G2233
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430WARE, ENERGIA, , MSP430G2553

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I see all the Wiki and information for GRACE, but I cannot find where to download it.  I understand that it was discontinued, but I think it would be perfect for my application.  I'm not that strong at writing C code, but I know the functions that I need the processor to do.

  • Hello Jesse,

I believe Grace was discontinued around CCSv6 or so. You could possibly get to it by downloading an older version of CCS, but I'm not sure if all of the download mirrors are up anymore. Grace only did the initial setup of peripherals anyway. C code was still needed to make applications. I would not recommend this though due to the lack of support for Grace in newer versions of CCS and/or compilers.

We do offer several peripheral examples for this device to help accelerate your application design. These can be found within the TI Resource explorer -> Software -> MSP430Ware -> Devices -> [Your Device].

You can also checkout Energia for the MSP430G2553 Launchpad as this ia the parent device for the MSP430G2233. All functions outlined in Energia for MSP430G2553 won't be available for your device due to their peripheral differences.
  • Jace,

Thanks for the information. The mirror sites are not up anymore. I will try energia. I am not running an application, just button input to rs232 message/gpio output and PWM dimming.

    Jesse
