CCS/MSP432P401R: Selecting the MSP-FET to debug an MSP432P401R

Are you using the MSP-EXP432P401R LaunchPad along with the MSP-FET for debug?

I want to test the MSP-FET tool to debug an on chip XMSP432P401R.
I built a customized circuit. It is working fine on the external debug mode of the built in XDS110v2 from the Black Launchpad. I want to try locking my code with the MSP-FET.

Which generation of MSP-FET tool are you using?

It is the MSP-FET with serial no. Beginning with 17.
It is the latest one. I just bought last week.

Yes, indeed it is the 2nd generation. So IAR with MSP-FET works fine but not CCSv7 with MSP-FET. Clearly there is no problem with your board as IAR+MSP-FET can download and debug an image. Can you select TI MSP4320 USB1 in the drop down menu on the first post and check if it connects via CCS?

Since I have the Red LaunchPad with production silicon version, I can try using a MSP-FET with the same setting and see if it works for me at most.
