MSP430F5438A: MSP430F5438A code lost problem

Part Number: MSP430F5438A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-GANG,

Dear TI,

The customer's product use MSP430F5438A, mcu work is abnormal in the process of use. Use MSP-GANG to read the code, the read code is all empty, the code is lost.

There are the following questions to be confirmed:

1. PMM is not configured, does it cause the code to be erased?

2. Flash operating frequency range?

3. Other possible reasons for lost of code?

Many thanks.

  • Hi Hardy Ma,
I think we need some more information why you came to the conclusion that your Flash is empty.

    - What have you done before that this happens?
    - Does this occur just once? Can you repeat it also on more than one device?
    - What does empty mean? What do you read and at which location?
    - Which frequency are you using for MCLK?
    - What supply voltage are you using? Is your application still working? Maybe you just can't read the code...

An unconfigured PMM shouldn't cause this issue.

    Best regards,
    Tobias
  • Hardy,

Do you have the additional information that Tobias outlined? It could be that your JTAG is locked which is why you can't read anything out. If no response soon, then I will close this thread.
