CCS/MSP432P4111: CCS/MSP-EXP432P4111: How to enable Real Time Debug on Linux 16.04 and CCS Version: 8.0.0.00016

According to this page the mentioned controller should support real time debugging. But the icon in CCS is greyed out, and the corresponding checkbox in the Debug Configuration as well.

How can I enable Real Time Debug ?

I see the same thing on my CCS v8 running under Windows. I'll check to see if that page that you referenced has correct information or not and get back to you.

Feedback from our developers is that this _should_ be supported. I've requested an update to correct this in CCS. Will let you know when I have a response.

Thanks Bob, I greatly appreciate the outstanding support here at TI. I am looking forward to this feature on my MSP432.
By the way, I also tried this with DDS (Debug Server Scripting) and I get an exception ( the corresponding property is read only ), so once the feature is available, the developers might want to test it with DDS as well.

Peter,
It now appears that the MSP432 does NOT support real-time debbugging as the document you referenced suggested. It does support real-time viewing of memory (which is probably why the device was noted as having that real-time feature). However, there are a number of other capabilities implied by the checkbox in CCS that the MSP432 does NOT support. (Note- you don't have to check the "enable realtime mode" checkbox to be able to do reads of the device memory while the cpu is running)

We will update the documentation to reflect this information above.
