MSP-FET USB Programmer Problems

Using Uniflash GUI and DSLITE for CLI mode programming of our TI MSP430F149 devices via USB. This worked fine since we bought the MSP-FET programmer in November, 2017.

Upgraded Uniflash from 4.2.1.1562 to 4.2.2.1692. Having done this, every time we run Uniflash or DSlite, an attempt is made to load new firmware. Firmware seemed to load OK, but there is no longer any response to DSlite commands..

As nothing seemed to work anymore, re-installed Uniflash 4.2.1.1562 again. Now, it also went into firmware load loop. After a few attempts at rebooting Windows ant trying again, the MSP-FET no longer responds to commands and refuses to accept firmware load.
Found a document from TI describing how to cold boot of MSP-FET(Document last updatedFeb 2018) On dismantling as directed, found that the PCB in the MSP-FET was very unlike the photograph in instructions and could not figure out how to reset.

We are running under Windows 7 Professional.

Does anybody else have this problem or is able to suggest how we can get this working again please?

    It seems an update got interrupted or corrupted here. Let's try to get the MSP-FET updated to the correct FW here. There are a few options. You can download CCS8 ( ) which will download the appropriate drivers and I believe it has a MSP-FET recovery built in as well. You can try the same thing with MSP430-FLASHER. ( ) You could also try just re-downloading the drivers for the MSP-FET as well at this link http://www.ti.com/tool/MSPDS . I'm not sure if the last option will recover the MSP-FET though.

    In regards tot he PCB change, if your MSP-FET starts with a "17" as the serial number, this was an update for compliance reasons for the HW. Functionally it is the same.

    I think that is what it was. I have updated to 4.3.0.1802 which became available last week. Now the Uniflash works fine, thanks for your help. Only problem now is that running the CLI runs DSlite, but programming does not work, red light does not come on during programming. No error messages displayed. When I get this working, I will never update again!
