Hi Team,

It seems like can transmit and receive examples does not work even if I use external CAN transceiver.

I also changed JP5 and JP4 to use rx, tx port with CAN function.

Could you check whether it's working or not?

Transceiver set I have working well with C2000, but not working with MSP432E4 Launchpad.

I used all the can_multimassage_~~~ can_singlemessage_~~~ examples and with all cases tx port did not switch.

I tried with ISO1050 transceiver EVMs and TCAN1042 EVMs.

Please let me know what I should do.

FYI I'm using CCS 8.0.0.00016 and SlimpleLink MSP432E4 SDK v2.10.00.17.

Hello Ted,

Can you check on the CAN TX and RX pins when you send a message does the TX and RX pin toggle?

Hi Amit,

When I tried with 2 MSP432s using single message tx and rx example, both tx port and rx port does not toggle when I hit the SW1 on the tx board.
and shows this message on it's UART channel

Sending msg 0x100: 0x00 0x48 0x49 0x4a 0x4b 0x4c 0x4d 0x4e error - cable connected?

When I tried with MSP432 TX and C2000 RX, tx port does not toggle and rx port toggles.

TX port never toggles.

Hello Ted,

This is strange since the example was tested. Let me rerun the example with a CAN transceiver (might take a couple of days to locate a board)

Hello Ted,

I found one issue in the code itself related to configuration of the CAN pins

MAP_GPIOPinConfigure(GPIO_PA0_CAN0RX);
MAP_GPIOPinConfigure(GPIO_PA1_CAN0TX);
MAP_GPIOPinTypeCAN(GPIO_PORTA_BASE, GPIO_PIN_0 | GPIO_PIN_0);

must be

MAP_GPIOPinConfigure(GPIO_PA0_CAN0RX);
MAP_GPIOPinConfigure(GPIO_PA1_CAN0TX);
MAP_GPIOPinTypeCAN(GPIO_PORTA_BASE, GPIO_PIN_0 | GPIO_PIN_1);

I still don't have a full setup to emulate a CAN link but am working on it.

I confirmed it works well after I change the code as you let me know.

MAP_GPIOPinTypeCAN(GPIO_PORTA_BASE, GPIO_PIN_0 | GPIO_PIN_0);
to
MAP_GPIOPinTypeCAN(GPIO_PORTA_BASE, GPIO_PIN_0 | GPIO_PIN_1);
