MSP432P401R: Creating a Simple internet of things application, what parts are available?

Part Number: MSP432P401R

I have an application where the goal is to have some kind of single board computer and then very primitive  sensor boards. The IoT processor could be the MSP430 but the satellite sensor boards?  not sure, but these sensor boards would connect to the MSP430 which would then have some internet connection.  Is there a kit offered like this?  so if I put the sensors in different rooms they could sense if the light was turned on, send status back to the 430, which could send some alert?

Would like to have this setup in my car, so that its running off of the cars 12v, if the fuel tank door is opened or some motion sensed there, it would communicate back to the 430.  Mostly are there small inexpensive satellite sensor boards, how would they talk to the 430

  • Bradley,

I would start with the IOT blog entry here.

thanks so much for the super fast reply. Those are nice options, but in the scenario Im hoping for the sensor boards have to be in one room and the MSP board would be in the home office, they'd have to be communicating wirelessly with some very simple protocol, possibly using an IR scheme, but then that needs some relay unit in each room meaning it would need to sit on the 120vac line and send signals back. I want to know if someone knocks on my garage door, or if it opens, when the washing machine finished, if motion was detected by the front door. Cant string wires all over the place, and it needs to be managed by one MSP board.  Does something like that exist? I saw the sensors (I have many of them for an Arduino) but they need a cable & interface to the processor and this is what I want to change. thanks again
