I have a launchpad msp-exp430g2 rev 1.5    it support spy bi wire interface but no connection ti msp430i2041 It seems like device unsupported. What should i do to program MCu ? or what tools shouid i use?

    i got "can not open device or device not supported" from IAR

    The FET (programmer) in the G2 Launchpad is quite limited -- G2/F2 only as I recall -- and is not field-upgradable.

    The newer (MSP430) Launchpads have a field-upgradable "ezFET" programmer which supports pretty much all known MSP430 series. (The upgrade for new devices is done automatically by CCS and presumably IAR as well.)

    I vaguely recall that some Launchpad (FR2433?) is on sale at the TI Store just now for $4.30. That might be a good thing to get for your "gizmo box".
