MSP430F5418A: MCU lockup observed when switching from low power and normal mode

Could you please provide a little more detail here? Are you putting the device into a low power mode? And are you then expecting it to return to active mode?

Hi,
Device operates at 24v in (normal mode and ) on battery in low power mode (LPM3)
1. if power is good it runs in normal mode. In interrupt i am checking for voltage change
2. if interrupt, I am preparing device to lpm3 ( shutting down few peripheral so that power consumption can be reduced)-at this point device is not in low power mode, and wait for couple of ms to confirm there is real dip in voltage.
3. if real dip in the voltage i am putting device in lpm3 , if not i am it will enable all peripherals and it works in normal mode
4. i am having rtc interrupt , which is used to wake up from lpm to normal mode

during the dip test process , the device is switching to normal mode and low power mode. if the process is repeated for 5 mins and after 5 mins if power is good it is not coming to normal mode. it hangs

RTC interrupt is not triggered

Could you clarify what you are using the RTC for? Is it just keeping track of the 5 minutes that you mentioned?
