RTOS/MSP432E401Y: Pull up / down not working on PD7

Part Number: MSP432E401Y
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-EXP432E401Y

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

Dear TI-Experts,

when I activate PD7's pull up or pull down with GPIOPadConfigSet I cannot see any change of the pad's voltage (load >10Meg Ohm).

Is this pin somehow locked? I couldn't find any remark in SLASEN5 or SLAU723. Only the fact that it can be configured as NMI attracted my attention. I actually use it as ADC input. Enabling pull-up or pull-down is intended to check the board to controller connection. The mechanism works with all other pins but PD7.

Any idea?

  • I just checked the behaviour with a different MSP-EXP432E401Y. Same as with the first board, thus no defect of an individual board.

  • Hello,
I noticed in the field you identified TI-RTOS. I am concerned that the board definition is somehow in conflict - although it seems inconsistent that you only see the issue on PD7. I have not found anything in the errata that would suggest an issue. Can you provide the board definition file?

    Thank you,
    Chris
  • Hello Chris,

thank you for checking about PD7.
I already searched in the MSP_EXP432E401Y.c board file for double use of PD7, but it gets found only once.
For the final product this issue is very likely not critical, thus I cannot spend more time on it.
I'll file a new post, if the issue becomes critical.
