MSP430F2617: How to program micro in DRV8846 Evaluation Module

Hello,

I'm new in the field and I need some advices. I bought a DRV8846 Evaluation Module to control a stepper motor. My aim is to modify the stepping time of the motor, so letting it always on but moving only a specified number of steps each time with an interval between each movement. I have to program the micro inside the DSR8846, that is the MSP430F2617. How can i do this? Which software do I need to install? Do I need to buy a Flash Emulation Tool?

Hi Stefano,

There is another possible option for you to consider. The resistor packs R5 and R6 can be removed and the mcu of your choice can be connected to the J4 header.

If you want to continue with the MSP430F2617, please let us know. We will have to do a little research.

Hi Stefano,

Sorry for the delay. It is possible to re-program the MSP430F2617 using the FET tool.

You will also need Code Composer Studio or something similar to modify and compile the code.
