MSP430F5529: Equivalence between MCUs

Hello everyone.

I'm working in a project which I was going to use MSP430F5528. However, I just found this MCU in RGC package, which can't be soldered by hands. So I've found that MSP430F5529 is PN package. Are they fully equivalent? Will I need to change some registers?

The only differences between -28 and -29 are that the latter has more pins, i.e., more GPIOs and ADC/comparator inputs.

Your firmware should properly configure all unused pins. Otherwise, no changes are needed.

a quick scan of their datasheets should be enough to answer your question there.
