When installing the MK (MSP430F6725A IPN (TI) on the device card in replaceable MSP430F6723A IPN (TI) and MSP430F6723 IPN (TI), it turned out that they do not work, although the documentation says that they are interchangeable.
The fact is that we connect to the controller via MSP-EXP430G2 (LaunchPad), as well as to all the others.
But MSP430F6725A is not defined at all, so it's impossible to load the code into the MK.
Also it is impossible to determine the controller through UniFlash v4.

The voltage is normal, there are several devices, all are not working, two other types of MK, for example such as (MSP430F6723, MSP430F6730) work on this board, because they are also interchangeable.

After the MSP430F6725A is soldered to the same card, it stops appearing.

Hi,

1) What do you mean by device card? Which hardware do you use to program both devices?
2) Please specify the connection to the MSP-EXP430G2.

The difference between is that MSP430F6725A has 128kb flash memory and MSP430F6723 has 64kB. So unless the code fits into 64kB it should be possible.

Own board is used.
The programmer is connected via the SBW interface.
But MSP430F6725A is not defined by any of the programming environments at all.
Other MCs on this board work

Hi,

which programming environment do you use?

CCS 8.0 recognises the MSP430F6725A as well as all other derivatives.

Maybe your CCS has not downloaded the MSP430 support. To add MSP430 support re-run the installer and select the appropriate option.

Yes, the programming environment CCS 8.1
in the MC list I choose MSP430F6725A
But MK is not determined

Hi,

from your first post, it is not clear what is working and what not. Also the system is unclear.

Can you please summarise which micro controller works on your board and which doesn't?
Do you use a socket or do you solder them to your board?
Why do you use the MSP430G2 launchpad?
Which programmer do you use?
How do you connect the programmer to your board?

Please refer to http://www.ti.com/lit/slau278, figure 2-3 Signal Connections for 2-Wire JTAG Communication to make sure you have the right connection.

The microcontroller is soldered to the board.
Only MSP430F6725A does not work.

Controllers MSP430F6730, MSP430F6723, work.
As a programmer, I use MSP-EXP430G2.
I'm trying to connect via CCS 8.1.
The programmer connects to the board via the SBW interface.

I am connected according to a datashit.

Sorry for so many questions. So you have the same boards and no difference between them? Only the micro controller is different?

Can you please upload a screenshot of the exact error message?

Also please make sure to have the correct include files in your firmware. Please see the application note describing the differences of MSP430F67xx A and non-A.

Hi,

here are some other things to check:
- Have you tested other MSP430F6725A? Maybe the one you have is damaged.
- In CCS have you selected the right target?

The programmer on the G2 Launchpad is very limited.

According to the book it will only program F2-series devices. However, I vaguely recall that (before I knew this) I successfully used it to program some other then-current devices.

That said, the G2 programmer is not upgradeable, so I wouldn't expect it to program any devices that didn't exist when it came out (6 years ago?). I don't know the chronology, but my guess is that your failing device is much newer than the others.

I recommend you get a different programmer. It could be an MSP-FET box, or pretty much any Launchpad (keyword: "ezFET Lite") other than the G2. There's even an updated "G2ET" Launchpad (on sale this week!).
