MSP430-H449 header board.

Dear All,

I have a MSP430-H449 HEADER BOARD with JTAG and parallel port communication cable but not with USB. Now the HARDWARE MANUAL does not give any information on how to programme This MSP430-H449 HEADER BOARD and its hardware connection with JTAG communication ...plz can someone help me out on how to programme the device and what software should i used for JTAG communication.

Where did you get them from? Olimex?

They should provide some documents. Can you ask their customer support?

Usually, the JTAG cable is a a keyed 14-pin flat cable. Pin 9 is Ground. Is yours like that?

Hi madhurjya,

I think you're referring to this: http://www.olimex.com/dev/msp-h449.html.

You will need to have a JTAG debugger (i.e. MSP-FET430UIF (with USB interface) or MSP-FET430PIF (with parallel port), or maybe some Elprotronic tools (www.elprotronic.com) connected to the pin-header on the top.

In case of simple programming the device (with an application you have at hands) you can use FET-Pro430 (http://www.elprotronic.com/fetpro430.html) together with your JTAG debugger.

If you need to create an application you should have a look at TI's Code Composer Studio (http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/ccstudio.html).
