MSP430FR2355: 4Mbps IrDA support

Hi Champs,

I'd like to confirm any MSP430 can support 4Mbps IrDA mode. Some MSP can support 4MBps UART and also support IrDA mode but I could not find the information about what is the max IrDA baud-rate. I am picking up FR2355 for this inquiry as example. If any TI MCU/MPU can support 4Mbps IrDA, please let me know.

Hi Hisao

Due to the IrDA module can use SMCLK and the SMCLK can be up to 24MHz. Based on the formula UCIRTXPLx = tPULSE × 2 × fBRCLK – 1, you can configure UCIRTXPLx to 0 and SM CLK to 4MHz . So we can support 4Mbps I think.

Hi Gary,
As far as looking at data manual, it seem possible.
Since it is difficult to confirm it on actual device, I would like to get any confirmation from TI.
Can you get it?
