CCS/MSP430F5528: NO USB FET was found

I am trying to connect to the FDC2114EVM in CCS, in order to communicate with the device via. USB.

I was told in these forums that I could load an example project from the CCS library, however every attempt I have made to communicate with the MSP430F5528 device results in the same error message: No USB FET was found.

Do I need an FET?

Yes, the USB communication needs to be setup in the F5528 via FET. Afterwards you can communicate via USB.

Thank you for your assistance.
I just want to double check. Why was I told that I didn't need an FET if I had the FDC2114EVM?
Also, will the FET assist with interfacing with Labview?

Sorry, I think I misunderstood your question.
You are talking about communicating with the F5528 which is on-board, right?
In this case this should work without the FET.
Which connection have you selected in CCS for communication?

Yes, it is working with the GUI. I have CCS v8 downloaded onto Windows on MAC. (I had the same problem when I was using a Dell Laptop however, I just want to mention every variable)
I am also attempting to connect to the COM3 using the CCS terminal, but the session remains closed for some reason.
I have also tried different drivers.

Do you have maybe a different board available (launchpad) to verify the CCS installation and drivers?

I haven't found any docu that this board should also work with CCS - only with the GUI.
What is your assumption that this should work?

Sorry I don't have this board at hand for verifying this.

I have another FDC2114EVM, as well as an FDC1004EVM. They all have the same issue.
I was assuming that since the MSP430F5528 was listed under the available devices to interface with in CCS, I would be able to do so.

It looks like I am able to connect to the device in the Terminal window, I had to alter the Baud Rate.

It seems there is no onboard debugger, so I doubt this will work with CCS...
