MSP432P4111: MSP432P4111

Part Number: MSP432P4111

Hi,

I am trying to load a program to a PCB we have designed. WE have checked it and everything seems fine but we get this error:

Error connecting to the target:
(Error -261 @ 0x0)
Invalid response was received from the XDS110.
(Emulation package 7.0.188.0)

Any idea?

Thanks.

  • What tool are you using to program the device? Is this the XDS110 on the Launchpad or a stand-alone pod?
Does the XDS110 provide or sense the target voltage? What is the target voltage?
How many boards have you built and are seeing this error?

    Regards,
    Chris
  • I'm using CCS 8

The XDS is in a Launchpad (the MSP432P4111 launchpad)

    The XDS110 does provide, 3.3V

Wr have built 5 and they show different error, which feels weird.

    The error we get are:

    Error connecting to the target:

    (Error -261 @ 0x0)

Invalid response was received from the XDS110.
    (Emulation package 7.0.188.0)

    Error connecting to the target:
    (Error -616 @ 0x0)
The data received from the target may be corrupt. The connection
to the target may be unreliable. Try lowering the TCLK setting
    before trying again.
    (Emulation package 7.0.188.0)

    Error connecting to the target:
    (Error -615 @ 0x0)
The target failed to see a correctly formatted SWD header. The
connection to the target may be unreliable. Try lowering the
    TCLK setting before trying again.
    (Emulation package 7.0.188.0)

The thing is that when we test the conection (in the file MSP432P4111.ccxml) we get this:

    -----[Print the reset-command hardware log-file]-----------------------------
This emulator does not create a reset log-file.
-----[Perform the SWD Mode Integrity test]-----------------------------------
This test will read the IDCODE register 1 time.
The IDCODE register value is 0x2ba01477.
The SWD Mode Integrity test has succeeded.
[End: Texas Instruments XDS110 USB Debug Probe_0]
    So... any idea?
  • Hello,

please provide your schematic and board layout because your h/w looks like unstable.
I am unable to help you, I would be a bystander.
  • Can you confirm the following?

    (1) That all of the jumpers from J101 are removed.
    (2) That the jumper J102 is populated and shorted.
    (3) that you can still program the P4111 on the launchpad with the 10-pin ARM cable/connector.
    (4) 10-pin connections on the target board are correct (schematic review)

    Regards,
    Chris
  • Have you been able to make any progress on this? Do you have any additional questions?

    Regards,
    Chris
  • Oh, sorry for my delay in the answer.

Yes, we have managed to download the code into the PCB.

    Thank you.
