MSP432E401Y: USB Device; Pull Up Resistors needed?

Part Number: MSP432E401Y

Hello,

I intend to use this uC as a device that will be powered on once connected to the host and intend to use full-speed, not high-speed. I currently have a common mode choke, ESD protection diodes, and a 100ohm resistor on the VBUS line to limit ESD damage. Looking through the uC documentation I don't think I saw any information relating to pull-up/pull-down resistors on the USB0DM and USB0DP lines, but I've read sources that say otherwise. Do I need them?

Below is a snippet of the portion of the schematic. Thank you and I apologize if this information is in the documentation somewhere and I have missed it.

  • The note in section 27.4 of the TRM says:

The termination resistors for the USB PHY have been added internally, and thus there is no need for external resistors. For a device, there is a 1.5-kΩ pullup on the D+ and for a host there are 15-kΩ pulldowns on both D+ and D–.
