MSP430F2013: Programming connector part number

Part Number: MSP430F2013
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-FET

Hi,

Please suggest me programming connector for below attached MSP430F2013 Part reference J2 in Schematics.

Thanks,

Ashok

  • Hi Ashok,

Thanks for your post! Did this schematic snippet come from one of our designs? If so, could you please share the link with me?

The 10-pin J2 connector shown in the schematic snippet above is used for JTAG programming. If you're working on a custom design, you may want to use a smaller connector/pads to save space on your board. If space isn't a concern, then I would actually recommend using our 14-pin connector that's compatible with our MSP-FET debugger. To answer your question, I searched through our MSP430 Hardware Tools User's Guide and found a part number for a 10-pin connector from one of our target socket boards.

    HRP10H-ND

They don't seem to be in stock at Digi-key, but you may find them at other vendors. I hope this helps!

  • Hi james,

Thanks for the information.its our custom design and placement is not an issue but connector height should below 6mm.

can u suggest me 14pin  programming connector partnumber please.

    Thanks,

    Ashok

  • I found it in the MSP430 Hardware Tools User's Guide by searching for "14-pin". I'm not sure about the height.

    HRP14H-ND

I've seen where some designers with space constraints (either area or height) will use the legged Tag-Connect JTAG connectors with the MSP-FET.

    James
