  Using the extra pins on the bottom of the LaunchPad as shown in Tomasz post is one way to do this.

Another way is to remap the pins on the Boosterpack header to the UARTs you wish to use. Have a look at the PMAP (Port Mapper) example here to see how to do this. (the example shows moving another peripheral, but you should be able to get the general idea).

My recommendation for you, if you are a beginner, do an UART programming and when it works fine try a port mapping.
Avoid debugging issues at two different h/w level at the same time.
