MSP430F2274: Just trying to do a verify only to see if the device has been programmed correctly

The -v option compares the contents of flash memory to the contents of a firmware file.  So you would need a filename after the -v.  However, if you combine flashing (-w) with verification, it will assume you want to compare the file just flashed, so in that case you only need  to add -v. to the -w command line.  Then it will flash and automatically verify.
