CCS: Can I kill a service instead of restarting for Error initializing emulator: Interface Communication error all the time?

Every time I re-dock my laptop, if I forget to plug and unplug the USB FET, then I get the dreaded:

Error initializing emulator:
Interface Communication error

A restart will fix it but that means closing down everything I'm working on. Is there a background service I can just kill somewhere? Restarting CC studio has no effect, once the error shows up. Same for plugging and unplugging the FET. A computer restart is the only answer, and I did not see anything obvious in process manager or services that I could restart instead.

Just an update. I have not heard back from the tools team on this yet, but was told they are looking into it. I have sent a follow up and will update you when I hear back.

I apologize, but still have not heard recommendations from the tools team. I will try another follow up and see if they have been able to make any progress on this issue.

Yes every morning if I forget to unplug the fet first. So the FET is plugged into my dock, then I dock my laptop. The FET is turned on. If I try to debug a program CC studio cannot find the FET. Once it's in this state I can plug and unplug the FET from USB all I want, it is not going to work with CC studio again.

If however I remember to unplug and replug the FET before I try to debug a program with CC studio then all is well. So it's something about the state it's in.

Long story short that's why I wanted to restart whatever service is running in the background.

Eric,

Our tools team was able to recreate the issue, even with other USB devices. In most cases, re-plugging the debugger solves the issue, but different docking stations have shown different behaviors as well.

We appreciate the feedback, but I don't think this is an issue we can provide a solution to in all situations. We do expect to take this feedback and document this as a known limitation with known workaround.

For future use, we recommend that you try to avoid this situation as much as possible, but I understand how it could be easy to forget to unplug before docking.
