MSP-EXP430G2ET: MSP-EXP430G2ET, TRF7970A BoosterPack, and RF430FRL152HEVM cannot connect to the RF430FRL15XH GUI Interface.exe

I buy MSP-EXP430G2ET, TRF7970A BoosterPack, and RF430FRL152HEVM recently for my course project. and I have a problem now. According to the RF430FRL152HEVM User's guide, the matching LaunchPad development kit is TRF7970EVM, not TRF7970ABP. And I read the TRF7970A BoosterPack User's guide, which said the TRF7970A BoosterPack is matched with  MSP430F5529 LaunchPad development kit. However, the application called 'RF430FRL15XH GUI Interface.exe' show me TRF7970A BoosterPack can be matched with MSP-EXP430G2ET. After that, I  read the MSP-EXP430G2ET User's guide. I had no idea about how to use the RF430FRL15XH GUI Interface.exe. Then, I try to connect the MSP-EXP430G2ET and TRF7970A BoosterPack to my PC. But there is no reaction on my PC. So my problem is that how can these two launch pads connect to the PC and are these three devices matched?   

And I want to ask one more question. What is the different between MSP-EXP430G2ET and MSP-EXP430G2

    Hello Zihong,

    Please re-read Section 1.3.1 of the RF430FRL152HEVM's User Guide... all the information you need is there. Here is the link for you: www.ti.com/.../slau607c.pdf

    Make sure you download the binary provided there and flash it onto your board with Uniflash, then power cycle the board, and then connect to the GUI. Make sure your USB port for the LaunchPad is between COM1 and COM6 as well.

    For this application, the G2ET works the same as the G2. If you want to know more about differences, please make a separate post for that so the MSP430 experts can answer.

    I re-read the UG and follow the steps. But this time I face another serious problem. I cannot program the pad. 

       

    Today, I do nothing with this pad before I use it. Last time I use it was yesterday. yesterday it worked. but now it has this problem. So I wish you can help me.

    Hello Zihong,

    I would not use CCS, use Uniflash to program the binary instead. You can get Uniflash from www.ti.com/.../UNIFLASH

    Just program the .out file found at [Install Path]\sloc346\MSP430G2 LP TRF7970ABP Host Control Binary\Firmware\Debug
