CCS/MSP430G2553: "MSP430: Error initializing emulator: No USB FET was found" MacBook Pro

I am trying to run the MSP430G2 series from school on my MacBook Pro but I received

"MSP430: Error initializing emulator: No USB FET was found"

I have looked online and I see no solution. Which then, in turn, it feel like that CCS does not support this G-series at all if you have a MacBook. Is this correct?

You are correct, the older MSP-EXP430G2 launchpads are not supported on MacOS. However, the new MSP-EXP430G2ET launchpad is. Please see this thread.
