I am a beginner in MSP430 and an I write code for UART serial communication but not work anyone can send a simple code for sending a string using UART in putty.

you can find quite some code examples in the TI Resource Explorer of our Code Composer Studio, which is downloadable from our webpage for free www.ti.com/.../ccstudio-msp . These include also multiple code examples for UART communication.

Except, the OP wants to send/receive a *string* not a character. AFAIK, all the TI examples just deal with echoing of various types. If there is one that does more than that, can you tell me the name of that example?

Hi Keith,
sure, there is always room for improvement. On the other hand an echoing example means, the code is supporting and demonstrating reception and transmission of bytes. So basically everything for the physical layer is there. It just needs adaptation to the specific use case of which there may be thousands of different ones.

The examples are great for verifying serial communication. In fact, when the OP comes back to say that the code in the links I provided does not work, the first step is to run the echo example to verify that basic serial communication works. 8^)
