Hi,

In several manuals i found "MSP-TouchProGUITool" but i don't know if it's still active and where/how to find it.

We have to implement touch sensing on MSP430G2553 and, although we can manually tune the touch buttons, it would have been easier to use a pc gui tool.

It has something to do with the new captivate?

Hey Mirco,

Yes, the GUI you mentioned is a legacy GUI that is no longer supported and was pre captivate. Now, we try and encourage everyone to use captivate solutions for cap touch applications. Captivate is a far superior and more robust solution than the legacy pin-osc.

Is using a captivate device possible for this design? http://www.ti.com/captivate

Unfortunately no, they say it wouldn't be cost effective so we will stick to the old way. Are there any example of working code with pinosc?

Hey Mirco,

Unfortunantly, I don't know of any existing code examples.

We do have a new smaller MSP430 with captivate that might be cost effective enough for the customer, the MSP430FR2512.

It hasn't got enough GPIOs for the other functions but I will keep it in mind for our next capacitive touch design! Thank you!
