MSP430FR2522: 32K external crystal for captivate

Hi Champs,

We would like to confirm if this customer use case need 32K crystal input.

*Captivate (self)

*GPIO interrupt to host mcu when cap touch detect and wake up.

* PWM output : buzzer and LED optical adjust, duty change.

Basically, we don't want to use 32K crystal input.

Please let us know if our use case need 32k crystal.

    Hi Kz777,

    did I understand that correctly, that the customer does not want to use the crystal, or does he need the additional IO for control tasks?

    The use of the crystal helps in improving the timing accuracy while using VLO the timings / frequency varies.
    If accuracy is not an issue for the application, than the use of VLO for the PWM could be OK.
    From the capacitive touch side this should not be an issue.
