MSP432E401Y: Does it support OTA?

Part Number: MSP432E401Y
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-EXP432E401Y

Hi

I am working on a project for which I need a microcontroller with Ethernet and OTA Upgrade Support.

I am new to both of this (Ethernet and OTA) and know very little.

I would like to know the answers of the following questions:

1. Do we need any extra hardware which needs to be connected with MSP432E401Y microcontroller externally for having ethernet connection or the microcontroller is sufficient alone?

2. Does MSP432E401Y Supports OTA Upgrade? If yes, how?

3. Can you suggest any other microcontroller from texas instruments which have the features I am looking for (Ethernet and Over the Air Upgrade Support)

  • Hello Mritunjoy,

The MSP432E4 MCU comes with integrated Ethernet MAC and PHY. So the main external components required for Ethernet connection are magnetics and RJ45 connector.

The development board MSP-EXP432E401Y shows what are the necessary external components required for Ethernet connection.

We don't have an OTA support for MSP432E4 devices yet. However we have bootloader support.

    Hope this information helps!

    Regards,
    Sai
