TSS521: Electrical default state of RX and RXI pins: pull-up/pull down needed?

Hi,

I have been studying data sheets of TSS521 (and TSS721A) to prepare for a design project starting next week.

I am worried about connections to unused data pins, as the data sheet doesn't define how the data lines RX and RXI should be terminated when not in use. Can pin 12 and pin 13 float when not used, or should they have an external pull-up / pull-down respectively, if not used?

Hello,

According to several figures in the datasheet, the unused pins are left floating. I would recommend trying this and if there are issues, then tie them to GND through a pull-down resistor.

Thank you. I am aware of the data sheet presenting floating pins. However, when cross-checking with the electrical data, which shows minuscle input currents (likely no pull-ups/pull-downs), I am afraid, that the inputs would be floating and therefore could be a problem in some use cases and temperatures.
