MSP430FR6047: Unexpected wake-ups during LPM3

Part Number: MSP430FR6047
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ENERGYTRACE, MSP-FET

Hi!

While checking the states using MSP-FET EnergyTrace I see a strange problem as in the pictures below where the device wakes up from sleep LPM3 into LPM0, LPM2 or AM unexpectedly. The device should wake up each second where the active mode takes 10ms. Pressing the blocks does not give me any relevant information.

How can I debug this?

Best regards,
Thibault Helle

  • Update: I found out that theses interrupts came from USS_Lib.HAL.c:

    #pragma vector= USSLIB_HAL_TIMER_CCR0_VECTOR
    __interrupt void USSLIB_HAL_TIMER_INT(void)
    {
    USSSWLIB_USS_interrupt_status |= (USS_TIMER_EXPIRED_INTERRUPT);
    HARDWAREWREG16(USSSWLIB_TIMER_BASE_ADDRESS + OFS_TAxCCTL0) &= ~(CCIFG);
    LPM4_EXIT;
    }

    #pragma vector= USSLIB_HAL_TIMER_CCR1_VECTOR
    __interrupt void USSLIB_HAL_TIMER_INT_CCRn(void)
    {
    // This interrupt is only used for TAxCCTL1.CCIFG, not any other TAxCCTLx
    // or TAIFG.
    // The interrupt vector is not checked to maintain same/similar number
    // of cycles between CCR0 and CCR1 events.
    USSSWLIB_USS_interrupt_status |= (USS_TIMER_EXPIRED_EVENT1_INTERRUPT);
    HARDWAREWREG16(USSSWLIB_TIMER_BASE_ADDRESS + OFS_TAxCCTL1) &= ~(CCIFG);

    LPM4_EXIT;
    }

    And uncommenting theses lines of code in ussSwLibMeasurement.c removed the wake-ups, however this can't be removed:

        // Configure Timer for delay operations
        if(false == commonTimerConfigureTimer(config))
        {
            return USS_message_code_ACLK_settling_time_out;
        }

  • Hi Thibault,
    We haven't seen these additional wakeups here. They may be related to energy trace. Can you confirm whether you still see them with some independent lab equipment?
    BR,
    Leo
