MSP432P4111: Error connecting to the target: (Error -261 @ 0x0)

Part Number: MSP432P4111

Hi,

I'm opening this thread because I clicked "This resolved my issue" by mistake in another thread (https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/msp430/f/166/p/814349/3014097#3014097. Unfortunately, this forum does not ask for action confirmation or allow undo the action.

My problem: I have been trying to debug a custom MSP432P4111 board using a Launchpad as debugger through JTAG (10-pin) connector. I have been facing the following message when I run the debugger in CCS: "Error connecting to the target: (Error -261 @ 0x0) Invalid response was received from the XDS110. (Emulation package 8.1.0.00012)". I have checked the page:

but I do not  found the answer for this specific error code. Can someone help-me?

In another thread   (from TI) asked to me:

Otavio,

1) Are you able to use your LaunchPad debugger to connect to/program another LaunchPad, confirming that the issue is not from the LaunchPad side?

2) Do you have a pull down resistor on your TCK pin? This is one of ARM's guidelines is to have a PD here so that at power up it does not create a fake TCK pulse.

BR,

Seong

1) Well, I can confirm the issue is not related to my LaunchPad debugger, because I'm able to use it for self-programming the MSP432 shipped on the same board.

2) No, I do not have a pull-down resistor on TCK pin. I have a pull-up, as recommended in slaa848 [p.19], as depicted bellow

It is a really annoying issue. I realized that there are tons of similar issues reported in this forum, but no one solved my problem. I appreciate some help.
