MSP430-FLASHER: Flash erased support ?

Part Number: MSP430-FLASHER
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-FET

Hello team,

Could you please help my customer with is request ?

"""""

We need a little help.   We bought one of the MSP430 debuggers from Amazon to unbrick the EBBU units (I can attach the schematic if Raleigh is ok with it).

The attached upgrade doc mentions using the IAR Embedded workbench application to flash the EBBU (lots of GUIs).

I think TI has a tool that can directly flash the MSP 430 with bootloader and application correct – link below.

Could you guys please provide some guidance here.

Thank you,

  • Hello,

The next generation flash emulation tool, MSP-FET has been released and replaces the MSP-FET430UIF kit. The MSP-FET430UIF is no longer recommended for new designs. The MSP-FET supports BSL, JTAG and SBW interface. You can buy it in ti.com.

Both IAR and CCS can flash the MSP430 device through MSP-FET JTAG/SBW.

If you want update the firmware through bootloader, please refer to the page: http://www.ti.com/tool/mspbsl .
