Hi,

I am currently using DRV8323RS with MSP430F5529 to run a sensorless BLDC motor.

I am trying to create a standalone program without the use of GUI.

When I supply voltage to the DRV8323RS board, I would like the motor to automatically run CW or CCW continuously without using GUI since I have to run a life test of 25 min ON, 5 min OFF and repeat.

With DRV8323RS, I downloaded the source code for sensored and sensorless for CCS.

I managed to create a program for sensored motor and is able to run the sensored BLDC motor

However, when I tried to replicate the codes for the sensorless BLDC motor, the motor doesn't turn on. I measured the voltage at the high and low gates and noticed that GLA, GLB, GLC is reading some voltage (~ 10Vdc) while GHA, GHB, GHC is reading 0V. I believe that is incorrect.

Is it possible to have a look at my codes? If yes, I can send you my codes in a separate email if necessary.

Please advice.

I spoke with the MSP430 forum team. Unfortunately we are unable to debug at the code level. Please check an MSP430 code example book or similar for help with this code.

Can I get some clarification on the codes though?

1) In the GUI, for "Motor Enable" and "Driver Enable" function, can help to pinpoint me which line of the code controls this?

Is it the void drv832x_setGPIO(unsigned char gpioPort, unsigned char gpioNum, unsigned char gpioVal) & void EnableGateDrivers() ?

2) My sensorless motor currently have 14 poles;

a. Can I changed this in the code? I cant find the line of code which controls this. Does it have an impact on the sequential running code in the program?

Thena,

1) Please use the EVM and step through the code using the debug tools.

2) Please use the search function in CCS, you will find your answer if you search for Poles.
