Hi,

While performing calibration , we obtained a slope and offset that seems to differ from the values that we obtain from manual linear fit.

We did use the same set of points in both cases.

According to Ultrasonic Sensing Design Center User Guide (02.20.00.18),"The calibration panel enables the user to calibrate the meter (using liner fit calibration) for different number of ranges".

If so.then 1) Why such a variation and

2) What might be causing this?

Hi Divya,

The slope and offset should be used for calibrating the meter constant. Meter constant = Expected VFR/mean VFR

Hi Cash Hao,

The slope and offset that we obtain from the USS app differs from the one that we get while performing a linear fit for the same number of points.

Why is that so?

Hi Cash,

I had switched the data axis,that seemed to have caused the difference.

Just a small query ,according to the table will the meter constant for that particular range be multiplied with around 2.5?

Yes. You can consider this way.

Expected VFR = (meter constant * calibration factor) * dTOF/(absTOF1 * absTOF2)
