Hi All,

I'm working with EVM430F6736 energy meter. I want to perform two operation parallel in MSP430F6736 controller. So that I decide to use thread. In my compiler, I had _pthread.h library. I check that library, there is no option for create the thread. can u please suggest,

1. How to create two thread in my controller ?

2. How to run the two action paraalel in MSP430 controller?

Hello Poovai,

I'm not familiar with Pthread. I searched online and found that it seems to be related to POSIX, but I'm not familiar with it. Since it's not a TI product, I'm not sure how much help we can be unfortunately.

Ti-RTOS will allow you to use the pthread syntax to create threads as well as the TI syntax.

Hi Poovai,

1. You will need to include the POSIX header file and create the thread using the code below:

#include <pthread.h>

void *start_fxn(void *arg);
pthread_t thread;
int arg = 1;

pthread_create(&thread, NULL, start_fxn, (void *)&arg);

2. You will also need to add the following line to your kernel .cfg file:

xdc.useModule('ti.posix.tirtos.Settings');

Note: depending on the TI-RTOS (or SYS/BIOS) version you are using...the useModule might need to be this instead:

xdc.useModule('ti.sysbios.posix.Settings');
