MSP432P4011: MSP432P4011 custom board programming connections

Part Number: MSP432P4011
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, MSP-FET

Hi, we wrote software for the MSP-EXP432P4111 for our custom board with a MSP432P4011. The image below show the available signal for programming. We connnect to the "MSP-FET" with and the "MSP-FET-432ADPTR". We use the targets own power, so ADPTR is set to 'external power'. With UniFlash 4.6.x we see it recognizes the MSP432P4011, but thats as far as we get! Do we need the nRST and/or TDI?

Would also be nice to know the settings for CCS(*.ccxml file)

regards,

Laurent

  • Hi Laurent,

Yes. Please refer to section 3.7.1 of the System Design Guidelines for MSP432 Microcontrollers or section 1.1.5 of the MSP432™ SimpleLink™ Microcontrollers Hardware Tools Users guide for more information on pins required for programming.

According to the readme in the targetConfigs folder included in the project:

"The 'targetConfigs' folder contains target-configuration (.ccxml) files, automatically generated based on the device and connection settings specified in your project on the Properties > General page.

Please note that in automatic target-configuration management, changes to the project's device and/or connection settings will either modify an existing or generate a new target-configuration file. Thus, if you manually edit these auto-generated files, you may need to re-apply your changes. Alternatively, you may create your own target-configuration file for this project and manage it manually. You can always switch back to automatic target-configuration management by checking the "Manage the project's target-configuration automatically" checkbox on the project's Properties > General page."

    Thanks,

    Alexis
